Fardeen charged with attempt to buy drugs

Bharati Dubey

Fardeen Khan Filmstar Fardeen Khan was exempted from appearing in the court on the day the Narcotics Control Bureau filed its chargesheet against the star and two other co-accused in the cocaine case.

Fardeen has been charged with attempt to buy drugs.

Public Prosecutor Usha Sisodiya told rediff.com that a copy of the complaint filed against Khan in court would be sent to him.

Fardeen Khan had been picked up by the Narcotics Control Bureau in Bombay on May 5 and interrogated by NCB officers after he was allegedly found in possession of cocaine. He was later arrested by the NCB.

Tapes, which captured the deal between Fardeen and the drug peddlar Nasir, will be screened in court on August 6.

Fardeen had acquired special permission for exemption from court appearance to enable him to continue with his shooting commitments. Fardeen, at present, is shooting for Mehul Kumar's film Kitne Paas Kitne Door in Australia.

Fardeen movie Hum Ho Gaye Aapke will hit the marquee Friday, August 3.
