Let's fall back on cliches: Clothes maketh the man.

Man here being Amitabh Bachchan.

And guess who maketh his clothes? Clothes that, one might add, have come in for much praise.

Believe it or not, it's Karan Johar, director of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. And this how it all happened. Karan Johar happens to have designed the costumes for the male starcast of Aditya Chopa's Mohabbatien. That of course included Bachchan.

When it was time to shoot for KBC, Big B had a constant refrain to Karan: "Where-should-I-shop-and what-colours-should-I-wear?"

Karan Johar was more than happy to step in and help out. Voila, new clothes for Amitabh Bachchan
