He continues to regale the audience, telling them how people are amazed at the magic he has worked with the Indian Railways. "I have spread a network of railways across the country for the benefit of the people."
If Laloo can bring in some development to Revelganj, which has a crumbling market road, no degree college and a landmark municipal building in disrepair, that will bring some magic for this humble town on the Saryu river.
Yet the people who have come to hear him are thrilled. "What I like about him is that he is one of us," says Shashi Kumar Patel, a student. "I am seeing him for the first time and will vote for him," adds Sushil Kumar, a disabled boy who had waited three-and-a-half hours to see the minister.
Clearly, Laloo Yadav does not disappoint them.
