Buddhadeb criticises Election Commission

West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee took strong exception to the deletion of the names of 'genuine' voters from the electoral rolls.

The Election Commission had deleted the names of some 'genuine' voters from the electoral list, branding them as Bangladeshis, Bhattacharjee said on Monday.

"Our party has already informed to the EC in this regard, " Bhattacharjee said in a statement.

He came down heavily on a local vernacular daily for publishing a report quoting him, which he alleged, was malicious and motivated.
