The Congress and People's Democratic Party on Saturday reached a consensus on a common minimum programme, which will guide a coalition government between the two parties in Jammu and Kashmir.
"Absolutely. There is a consensus between PDP and Congress on the common minimum programme," party leader Arjun Singh said after a meeting with his colleagues.
Senior Congress leaders Ambika Soni, Ahmed Patel, Manmohan Singh, R K Dhawan and Ghulam Nabi Azad were present at the meeting.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi will meet PDP chief Mufti Mohammed Sayeed in the evening to decide the contentious issue of chief ministership, he said.
A draft common minimum programme, prepared during a meeting between Sayeed and Congress leaders on Friday night, was submitted to Gandhi on Saturday. The Congress president endorsed it.
