After losing power in the recently-concluded assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir, the National Conference on Saturday began a complete revamp of the party's organisational structure in the Kashmir valley by dissolving all its block bodies, youth committees and women wings.
The rural district body of the Ganderbal assembly constituency, from where National Conference chief Omar Abdullah lost to the People's Democratic Party's Qazi Mohammed Afzal, was also dissolved, a party spokesman said.
The operational responsibilities of all these bodies have been transferred to the party's Srinagar district unit until their reconstitution, he said.
It was in the Valley that the National Conference had suffered some of its most humiliating defeats in the election.
