Congress leading in 12 of 21 assembly constituencies in Jammu

Election 2002

The Congress was ahead in 12 out of 21 assembly constituencies in the initial rounds of counting of votes at six districts of Jammu division, according to trends available so far.

The party was leading in Hiranagar, Poonch-Haveli, Kalakote, Reasi, Chenani, Ramban Basholi, Raipur-Domana, Chamba and Jammu-est, Samba and Marh constituencies and BJP was ahead in three segments of Jammu-East, Gool-Arnas and Bani constituencies.

The National Conference was ahead in Gulabgarh and Nagrota constituencies and the BSP in Vijaypur constituency, while the JKNPP and two independents were leading in Udhampur, Billawar and Bishnah constituencies respectively.
