BJP, National Conference in tacit pact: Bhim Singh

Election 2002

Onkar Singh in New Delhi

The chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir National Panther's Party, Bhim Singh, on Thursday alleged the Bharatiya Janata Party and the National Conference have entered into a tacit understanding to form the next government in the state.

Speaking to rediff.com in New Delhi soon after he returned from Jammu, he claimed that both the parties have rigged the assembly election.

"According to my assessment the National Conference would get around 35-40 seats and it would need the support of the BJP to install Omar Abdullah as the next chief minister. I have a feeling that the BJP and the Jammu State Morcha together would get around 7-10 seats," he said.

He also felt the Congress and Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's Jammu and Kashmir People's Democratic Party would not be able to take advantage of the anti-incumbency wave.

He demanded immediate dismissal of the state government for failing to protect the citizens of the state from the terrorist attacks in Hira Nagar and Manda in Jammu district on October 1 and 2 respectively.

"I have asked for a judicial probe into all such incidents," he added.
