Gujarat Governor Sunder Singh Bhandari on Wednesday evening formally invited designate Chief Minister Narendra Modi to form the next government.
Earlier, Narendra Modi met the governor and staked the claim of his party to form the government after getting two-third majority in the just concluded assembly election.
The governor accepted the Modi's proposal to form the government on December 22 at the swearing in ceremony, along with his ministerial colleagues at Sardar Patel stadium in
Ahmedabad.
The swearing in ceremony will be an open function for all, according to a Raj Bhavan release.
After the formation of government, a short session of the Vidhan Sabha will be held by the end of this year, the release said.
