Four persons, including the Congress candidate from Kadi assembly constituency in Mehsana district, were injured following an alleged attack by a group of BJP activists, police said on Tuesday.

The candidate, Baldevji Thakore, in his FIR has accused nine BJP activists of attacking him on Monday with dharias (a sharp-edged weapon) and sticks when he was campaigning, police said.

All the injured were admitted to Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad and their condition was stated to be 'stable', police said.

No arrests have been made so far, police added.

This was the second such incident in the past one week. Earlier, Congress candidate for Salvi constituency was also attacked by BJP workers in a similar manner, Gujarat Pradesh Congress sources said.
