Experiments with coalitions have failed, says Pranab Mukherjee

Congress General Secretary Pranab Mukherjee today said experiments with coalition governments had failed in the country.

Talking to reporters in Chhindwara, he said the present atmosphere was not conducive for coalition governments since the country needed a stable government that could function for its full five-year term.

Asserting only the Congress could provide stability at the Centre, Mukherjee said he was confident that his party would return to power after this election.

The Congress general secretary, who is in charge of party affairs in Madhya Pradesh, said the party would win between 25 to 27 seats from the state.
