Elections 98
The CPI won in 1952, after which the constituency stayed with the Congress. In 1996 it had a VVIP candidate contesting on the Congress ticket, former prime minister P V Narasimha Rao, who defeated his nearest JD rival by nearly 170,000 votes. |
