In 1977 Tarakeshwari Sinha of the Congress was given the thumbs down, but in 1980 Krishna Sahi of the same party was welcomed with open arms. Sahi then lost the 1989 election, came back in 1991 and was relegated to the second position by an independent, Ramendra Kumar.
