It was a David versus Goliath contest… only, this time, Goliath won.

New Zealand, who were playing their first match in Australia in this World Cup, could only put 183 runs on the board.

It was not a challenging target and Australia breezed through in 33.1 overs (scorecard).

While Aussie supporter Manu Shankar/Rediff.com was elated, New Zealand supporter Laxmi Negi/Rediff.com could not hide her disappointment in our final Live! show hosted by Abhishek Mande/Rediff.com.
