Sreesanth conceded 19 off just three balls

Now that spot-fixing has reared its ugly head again, in the ongoing Indian Premier League, leading to the arrest of three cricketers, rediff.com takes a look at how S Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan performed in the matches they featured in. 

The most well-known name among the trio, Sreesanth, has so far featured in seven matches for Rajasthan Royals. The Kerala speedster has taken only five wickets, the two for 20 against Kings XI Punjab at Jaipur being his lone noteworthy performance.

While he was generally expensive, he did not conceded many extras. However, in their away match in Pune, he bowled a no-ball at a crucial juncture. 

Robin Uthappa had already hit him for eight runs off the first two balls before the third, a no-ball, was hit to the fence while the resultant free hit, was a waist high full toss that was duly dispatched for a six over square leg.

Surprisingly, having conceded 19 runs, off his first three deliveries, the last three yielded just two more. Job done, indeed!

Chandila was an unknown entity...

Ajit Chandila was a relatively unknown entity before he took a hat-trick against Pune Warriors in the last edition. 

This year, the offie from Haryana played in eight of Rajasthan Royals' 15 games thus far, claiming just six wickets, albeit with an impressive economy rate (6.24).

Considering he has been fairly accurate in a bulk of his matches, his performances against Royal Challengers Bangalore and Pune Warriors have been surprising.

In the both those matches, played in Jaipur, he was unusually expensive.

Chavan never completed his full quota

Ankeet Chavan featured in only three matches this season, and Rajasthan Royals lost two of them, including the match on Wednesday against the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede. 

Surprisingly, in none of the matches, Chavan bowled his full quota of overs.
