The BCCI president and Chennai Super Kings owner N. Srinivasan is in trouble.

His son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan, who was till recently referred to as Chennai Super Kings CEO before being disowned by the franchise, was on Friday arrested for alleged involvement in betting.

N Srinivasan's days as BCCI president also seem to be numbered as a faction within the Board is planning to initiate suspension proceedings against him if he refuses to step down in the aftermath of the IPL spot-fixing scandal.

Following the arrest of Gurunath Meiyappan, there are questions whether Chennai Super Kings should be allowed to play in Sunday's IPL final against Mumbai Indians in Kolkata.

That's why, in a bid to save the team from getting the axe, they were quick in issuing a statement that N Srinivasan's son-in-law is not the owner or team principal of CSK. By doing so they limited the damage and saved the team.
