'Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers are performing well'

Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer Ravi Rampaul believes the team has enough batting firepower to win matches even if explosive opener Chris Gayle fails with the bat.

"Even when Gayle doesn't perform, there are other young Indian players waiting for the opportunity to prove themselves. They haven't got a chance yet because Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers are performing well. Our batting has not really gone down to the tail. They are ready and waiting for the opportunity," Ramapul said in Bangalore on Monday.

Replying to a query, Rampaul said the team's execution in the death overs is dismal and the bowlers need to work on it.

"Once we get that right, all our performances will be lifted. I am comfortable bowling at all times of the innings. Whatever the captain and the bowler decide, the execution is the key. There are a lot of games coming up and so there are lot of opportunities," he said.

'We have to continue playing as a team'

The West Indian pacer said RCB need to quickly put their defeat against Chennai Super Kings behind them and look to bounce back with a victory against Delhi Daredevils on Tuesday.

"It's tough that two of our matches went to the last over and one turned out to be a Super Over. That's how cricket goes. We have to go back to the drawing board and decide what we have to do," he said.

On his encouraging performance against Chennai, Rampaul said he tried to make most of the opportunity but was disappointed that the team could not register a victory.

"Hence it doesn't matter how well I did. We have to continue playing as a team and keep our heads held high," he said.
