Dilshan back as Bangalore elect to bowl
Rajasthan Royals captain Rahul Dravid got a huge cheer from his beloved fans in Bangalore as he walked out for the toss with Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli during the Indian Premier League match at the M Chinnaswamy stadium on Saturday.
Kohli won the toss and put Rajasthan in to bat. The hosts made a couple of changes to their team with Tillakaratne Dilshan coming in for Andrew McDonald, while pacer RP Singh replaced Lokesh Rahul.
Rajasthan added a couple of fast bowlers to their team. Fast bowler Shaun Tait made his comeback in place of Kevon Cooper, while S Sreesanth was included in place of left-arm spinner Ankeet Chavan.
Bangalore crushed Rajasthan by seven wickets to jump to the top of the IPL standings with 10 points from seven matches.
Watson fails with the bat
Rajasthan opener Shane Watson failed with the bat as he was dismissed after scoring just six.
The opener tried to loft Ravi Rampaul over the off-side but was caught by Murali Kartik in the cover region, who came up with a well judged catch.
Unadkat dismisses Rahane
Ajinkya Rahane was dismissed by Jaidev Unadkat in his first over. The right-hander was foxed by the slower delivery from Unadkat as he spooned a simple catch to Dilshant at point for 14.
Binny falls for 33
Stuart Binny hit a quick 33 from 22 balls with the help of four boundaries and a six before he was dismissed by Vinay Kumar as he top edged the pull shot and was caught by wicketkeeper Arun Karthik, who ran back and held on to a tough catch.
Dravid's dismisal triggers collapse
Rahul Dravid smashed left-arm spinner Kartik for a boundary through midwicket for a four before he was dismissed off the very next delivery.
Dravid tried to loft one down the ground but failed to clear the man on the boundary and was caught at long-on after scoring 35 from 31 balls.
Following Dravid's dismissal Rajasthan kept losing wickets at regular intervals to lose their way.
Vinay sends Rajasthan crashing
Vinay Kumar claimed the wicket of Brad Hodge, who was caught behind for for 13 and then trapped Sreesanth leg before wicket for a duck to finish with excellent figures of three for 18 in four overs.
RP Singh claims three wickets
Shaun Tait missed a full toss from RP Singh to be bowled for one as Rajasthan's collapse continued. The left-arm pacer finished with superb figures of three for 13 in four overs.
Rampaul claimed the final wicket to fall when Siddharth Trivedi spooned a simple catch to RP Singh at thirdman as Rajasthan were bowled out for 117 in 19.4 overs.
Watson's double strike lifts RR
Shane Watson came on to bowl for the first time in 2013 in any form of cricket and he started with the wicket of Tillakaratne Dilshan in his first over, who was caught behind for 23.
Watson also got the wicket of AB de Villiers in his next over, who was caught at mid-off for seven.
Kohli perishes cheaply
Bangalore captain Virat Kohli was bowled off an inside edge by pacer James Faulkner for one as the hosts lost three quick wickets in the space of three overs.
Gayle's patient knock takes RCB to victory
Chris Gayle held back his normal attacking instincts to play a patient innings and carry his team to an easy victory.
The West Indian opener made sure he stayed till the end as he played a sedate knock of 49 not out from 44 balls, while Saurabh Tiwary made 25 not out.
Gayle ended the match in some style with a huge six down the ground as Bangalore cruised to an easy seven-wicket victory, with 13 balls to spare.
