Bhuvneshwar strikes early

Electing to bat, Rajasthan Royals had the worst possible start with opener Kushal Perera dismissed leg before wicket by pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar off the first ball of the innings.

Pune Warriors registered a convincing seven-wicket victory against the Rajasthan Royals for their first win in this year's tournament.

Dravid, Rahane steady Royals

Captain Rahul Dravid and Ajinkya Rahane steadied the innings after that early wicket with a quick 81-run stand for the second wicket from 11.1 overs.

Rahane made 30 from 27 balls before he was caught by Angelo Mathews off the bowling of leg spinner Rahul Sharma.

Yuvraj's double strike cripples Royals

All-rounder Stuart Binny failed with the bat as he was caught by Mitchell Marsh off Yuvraj Singh for one.

In his next over, Yuvraj claimed the wicket of Dravid for 54 to cripple the visitors. The veteran got a bit of width and played the delivery in the air towards cover region where Kiwi Ross Taylor dived to his left and plucked it with one hand.

Sharma shines with the ball

Leggie Sharma played a key role in checking Rajasthan's progress in the middle overs.

He took two for 16 in four overs including the wicket of Dishant Yagnik for 12.

Part-timer Yuvraj also accounted for two wickets, claiming two for 27.

Hodge, Faulkner rally Royals

Brad Hodge (22 not out) and James Faulkner (19 not out) recovered some lost ground as they took the Rajasthan Royals to 145 for five with a 39-run unbroken stand for the sixth wicket from 4.1 overs.

Pune eye first win in IPL 6

The cheerleaders of the Pune Warriors team celebrate as their team enjoyed the upperhand in the match. The Angelo Mathews-led team is still searching for their first win of the tournament having lost their first two games.

Uthappa gives Pune flying start

Robin Uthappa gave Pune Warriors a flying start as he smashed 32 from 16 balls, hitting three fours and two sixes.

He hit left-arm spinner Harmeet Singh for two fours and a six in the third over before slamming S Sreesanth for two sixes and a four in the next over as Pune raced to their 50 in the fourth over.

Finch hits half-century

Australian Aaron Finch was drafted in the team in place of the injured Marlon Samuels and he made most of the opportunity with a fluent half-century.

Finch made 64 from 53 balls to lay a solid foundation for his team before he was bowled by compatriot James Faulkner.

Pune wins first match in IPL 6

Fit-again Yuvraj Singh, back in the team, after missing the last match because of injury played a few big shots at the end to lift Pune to an easy seven-wicket victory with eight balls remaining.

This was Pune's first victory in this year's IPL after they had lost their previous two matches.
