SRK was conspicuous by his absence

Smith impressive yet again

The West Indies batsman scored a solid 47, his innings replete with seven boundaries.
Besides, he helped Tendulkar add 93 runs for the opening wicket, off just 13 overs.
Balaji was impressive
Lakshmipathy Balaji was the most economical bowler for Kolkata, giving away just seven runs in the three overs he bowled.
It was surprising that he wasn't given a fourth over.
Power failure hold up play
Even as Mumbai's openers continued their onslaught, reprieve for Kolkata came in the form of a power failure, the floodlights in one tower completely going off.
It happened after the ninth over and the players were forced to go off the pitch for 18 minutes.
The home team had scored 63 at that point.
Gambhir failed yet again
Needing a formidable 171 to keep their hopes alive, Kolkata needed a great start from their opening pair.
Alas, it wasn't to be.
Mitchell Johnson struck with his fourth ball, dismissing Gautam Gambhir for a second ball duck, the KKR captain having his stumps shattered.
