The IPL match between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Daredevils in Ahmedabad saw Narendra Modi supporters cheering for the BJP prime ministerial candidate and shouting slogans in his favour.
Around 400 Modi supporters, wearing saffron caps with the message 'Modi for PM' and seated across the stadium, kept up the 'Modi-Modi' chant from the start.
Modi is set to take over as the next prime minister of India, with counting trends showing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headed for the most resounding election victory the country has seen in 30 years.
The BJP was winning in 277 seats of the 543-seat parliament, counting trends showed. An alliance led by the party was ahead in 336 seats, reports said.

One of the supporters Ravi said, "We are here to cheer for Modi as he is going to become the prime minister."
Another Modi fan said, "When Delhi Daredevils's captain won the toss, we cheered 'Modi Modi'. When the rain disrupted the match we cheered for him [Modi]. When the Rajasthan Royals team player hit the first boundary or when they lost the wicket even then we were cheering for our leader."

Earlier, in the tournament too the cricket fans in Ahmedabad came out to support their favourite leader -- Modi.
A huge number of fans were seen wearing Modi masks during the IPL match between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders at Sardar Patel stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad.

Interestingly, Modi also has ties with cricket and is the current president of the Gujarat Cricket Association.
