Outstanding bowling from Yuzvendra Chahal and Mitchell Starc helped Royal Challengers Bangalore outclass Mumbai Indians for their second straight victory in the Indian Premier League, in Dubai, on Saturday.

After restricting Mumbai Indians to 115, Bangalore lost three early wickets but recovered to post an easy seven-wicket victory courtesy of the 99-run stand between Parthiv Patel and AB de Villiers.

After being put in to bat, Mumbai Indians struggled at the start of their innings.

Veteran Michael Hussey made just 16 before he was caught at square leg off Albie Morkel. Pacer Varun Aaron dismissed Aditya Tare for 17, who top edged the pull shot and was caught by Nic Maddinson in the deep as Mumbai slipped to 52 for two in the seventh over.

Young leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal left Mumbai reeling as he claimed the big wickets of Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard in back to back overs.

Rohit holed out to AB de Villiers at long-off after scoring two, while Pollard was out to a superb catch from Sachin Rana at long-on for five.

Mitchell Starc crippled Mumbai in the final overs as he claimed the wickets of Ambati Rayudu (35) and Corey Anderson (18) off successive deliveries, in the 17th over.

The tailenders also struggled to make an impact as Mumbai finished on a lowly 115 for nine in their 20 overs with Lasith Malinga run out in the final over courtesy of a direct hit from Yuvraj Singh at point.

Mumbai's pace duo of Lasith Malinga and Zaheer Khan led a spirited comeback with the ball, claiming three early wickets.

Malinga bowled Nic Maddinson with a superb yorker for 12 before Kohli and Yuvraj fell without opening their accounts to veteran Zaheer as Bangalore were reduced to 17 for three in the fourth over, having lost three wickets in the space of six deliveries.

Parthiv Patel and AB de Villiers rallied Royal Challengers Bangalore after a horror start with some intelligent batting in the middle overs.

Both batsmen kept the scoreboard ticking and rotated the strike quite nicely to ensure that the asking rate never got out of hand.

Patel cut loose towards the end and completed his half-century from 42 balls as Bangalore cruised to a seven-wicket victory with 15 balls to spare.
