One of the vital cog in Deccan Chargers' wheels, leg-spinner Amit Mishra has said that spinners need to be more skillful and act fast to compete in the Twenty20 cricket.
Gearing up for the fifth edition of the Indian Premier League, Mishra, who emerged as the top wicket-taker for his side in the last edition, said: "Spinners have to do more hard work than speedsters in T20.
"Spinners need to have lot of skills and have to think fast and work on identifying the weaknesses of the opponents. If you have skills you can prove yourself even on batsmen friendly wickets," he told reporters on the sidelines of a programme in Hyderabad.
Spin bowlers always need to work on positive things and regulary need to improve their bowling skills."
He said the biggest challenge in T20 cricket was to contain runs and take wickets.
"For a spin bowler to prove himself ... it is very important to be skilful.
"One needs to have belief in himself and always need to try to improve their bowling for getting better performance," Mishra said.
Asked about his (chances) on coming back to the Indian Team, Mishra said he was trying to perform by playing well in the coming season.
"I always try to give my best. I play with that motive whenever I get a chance. I believe in giving a better performance than the previous matches.
"IPL-IV is past and I am looking forward to IPL-V. Whatever opportunity I get, I try to prove myself, whether it is batting, bowling or fielding," he said.
Mishra said he was working on his fitness and bowling and was looking forward to prove himself by playing well in the forthcoming season for the Deccan Chargers.
