First Look: Ganguly rings the bell on Day 5 of Lord's Test

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly rang the bell on Day 5 of the second Test between England and India at Lord's on Monday.

Ringing the five-minute bell signifies the start of the day’s play in a match.

His former team-mate Rahul Dravid had the honour on the opening day of the ongoing Test.

"Sourav Ganguly rang the bell at Lord's this morning to start play -and he kept his shirt on ;) " said Lord's Cricket Ground in a post on Twitter.

MCC World Cricket committee member Ganguly played 113 Tests and 311 ODIs for India.

He made his Test debut at Lord's and made an immediate impact, scoring a century in the drawn match against England at the venue.

The 42-year-old, who became India captain in 2000, is widely regarded as India's most successful Test captain.

During his 13-year international career, he scored 18,575 runs, including 38 centuries - 16 of which came in Tests.

Ganguly will be inducted into the MCC's World Cricket committee on October 1. He follows in the footsteps of late former England wicketkeeper-batsman Stephen Fry, former England women's cricketer Claire Taylor, former India captains Kapil Dev and Dravid.
