England batsman Jonathan Trott has hailed the presence of a number of young batting stars in the team, but also underlined the importance of having a "correct blend" of youth and experience in the squad.

The World Cricketer of the Year watched as 22-year-old Jonny Bairstow hit 104 not out off 53 balls in England's final practice match on Tuesday.

"It was fantastic watching Jonny. I've seen people do that sort of thing on TV but not from the other end. It's really exciting looking at the players like him and Jos Buttler," The Sun quoted Trott, as saying.

"Tim Bresnan plays at Yorkshire with Jonny and says it's the only way he knows how to play...It's so pleasing to see someone play his natural game because of lot of people think they have to change something when playing for England," he added.

'We are getting the right blend of youth and experience'

Only Graeme Swann, 32, and KP, 31, are older than Trott on this England tour of India.

The Warwickshire batsman expressed his belief that the mix of youth and experience points to success.

"I've played in only one World Cup but Australia won their three with the oldest squad in each competition," he said.

"So it's not all about young players -- the key is to find the correct blend. We're getting that blend right," he added.
