Rampaul picked up a couple of wickets
Trinidad and Tobago thrashed Chennai Super Kings by eight wickets in their Champions League Twenty20 match in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The win helped the visitors finish ahead of the home team in Group B. They will now take on Mumbai Indians in the semi-finals at the Ferozshah Kotla on Saturday.
Put into bat, Chennai was bundled out for 118 in 19.4 overs. Trinidad reached the target with 29 balls to spare, thereby finishing ahead of Chennai in the table.
Earlier, Trinidad captain Denesh Ramdin won the toss and elected to bowl.
Ravi Rampaul gave the visitors a perfect start when he removed Michael Hussey (1) in the second over of the innings. Rampaul, who went wicketless in the last two games after grabbing four in his team's opening match against the Titans, finished with figures of two for 31

Vijay and Raina added 55 runs for the second wicket
Murali Vijay (27) and in-form Suresh Raina then forged a 55-run stand in 39 balls for the second wicket to set up a decent platform for the hard hitters after Hussey went cheaply.
Chennai made a decent start with 48 runs being scored in the six overs of mandatory Powerplay.
Raina, during the course of his innings, became the tournament's highest scorer.
Lendl Simmons accounted for both Vijay and Raina
Just when the duo looked settled for more, Vijay played a loose shot off gentle medium pacer Lendl Simmons and played on to the stumps.
Simmons also had Raina caught by Rampaul soon after.
He finished figures of two for 10.
Dhoni scored a run-a-ball 25
Mahendra Singh Dhoni walked in to a rousing welcome by a packed holiday crowd at the the Feroze Shah Kotla stadium.
But the CSK skipper, who had been in brilliant touch, could not replicate the magical knock he played against Sunrisers Hyderabad as his careful run-a-ball knock of 25 included just two fours.
Emrit was the pick of Trinidad bowlers
For Trinidad, Rayad Emrit (3 for 21) was the most successful bowler.
Emrit picked up the wickets of Dhoni, Dwayne Bravo (2) and Jason Holder (0).
Having restricted Chennai to 118, it was never going to be difficult for Trinidad.
Simmons top-scored with 63
Lendl Simmons, following a super effort with the ball, was impressive with the bat as well.
His 41-ball 63 was inclusive of five hits to the fence and four over it. Besides, he added 79 runs for the opening wicket with Evin Lewis (38), a partnership that laid the foundation of the Trinidad innings.
Simmons was named man-of-the-match for his effort.
