- Scorecard
Chasing 154 for victory, Mumbai eased to victory with five deliveries to spare. They will take on Rajasthan Royals in the final on Sunday.
Trinidad lost an early wicket when opener Lendl Simmons was caught at deep midwicket for a duck off Harbhajan Singh, in the second over of the innings.
However, Evin Lewis hit Trinidad out of trouble with a blazing innings of 62 from 46 balls, hitting six fours and four sixes.
He was caught and bowled by Kieron Pollard following which T & T lost their way and kept losing wickets at regular intervals.
Mumbai's bowlers did well in the middle overs to build the pressure on T & T batsmen by drying up the boundaries.
Pacer Nathan Coulter-Nile played a key role in keeping the runs down as he bowled an excellent spell of one for 20 in four overs, while Pollard and Pragyan Ojha registered identical figures of 1 for 16 in three overs to limit Trinidad to 153 for five in their 20 overs.
Veteran Sachin Tendulkar made it a memorable day for all his fans as he added another batting record to his name.
The master batsman completed an astounding 50,000 runs in competitive cricket across all formats. Needing 26 runs on the day to reach the landmark, Tendulkar tucked one towards midwicket for a single off left-arm spinner Yannick Ottley to reach another milestone in his glorious career spanning close to two-and-a-half decades.
He scored 35 off 31 balls including back to back sixes off Ottley before he was caught behind by Denesh Ramdin off medium pacer Lendl Simmons.
Opener Dwayne Smith continued his good run with the bat with another sparkling half-century.
The tall West Indian stroked his way to a quickfire 59 from 38 balls, laced with seven fours and two sixes, to lay the foundation for Mumbai's victory.
Mystery spinner Sunil Narine lived up to his top billing with another splendid performance with the ball.
He claimed two wickets in his first over, that of Ambati Rayudu caught behind for a duck and Smith, who was bowled for 58.
Narine bowled Rohit Sharma (25) in his final over to finish with excellent figures three for 17 in four overs but failed to get enough support from the other end.
Dinesh Karthik hit a brisk 33 (21 balls) including a match-winning six to take his team to victory with five deliveries to spare.
IPL champions Mumbai will look to complete the golden double when they take on Rajasthan Royals in the final, on Sunday.
