Tambe took four wickets
Pravin Tambe took four wickets as Rajasthan Royals thrashed Lions by 30 runs in a Group A game of the Champions League T20 in Jaipur on Wednesday.
Chasing a formidable target (184), the visitors could manage only 153 for nine in their stipulated 20 overs.
The 41-year-old took four for 15 in three overs to turn the match in his side's favour.
Earlier, the South African side won the toss and opted to field. Royals fielded 41-year-old leggie Praveen Tambe in their playing XI.
A spectacular catch by Hardus Viljoen ensured the Lions an early breakthrough, Ajinkya Rahane managing just six runs. It was Sohail Tanvir's lone wicket of the innings.

Dravid made a run-a-ball 31
Royals got off to a slow start and managed only 69 in the first 10 overs.
Rahane apart, Sanju Samson (12) was also dismissed early.
Rahul Dravid (31) made an useful contribution, his 30-ball innings inclusive of five hits to the fence.
Watson played a nice cameo
Shane Watson (33) played a nice cameo.
The Australian all-rounder's 24-ball innings contained four boundaries and two sixes.
Besides, he added 31 runs for the third wicket with his captain and a vital 43 runs for the fourth with Stuart Binny.
Tsotsobe picked up two wickets
Lonwabo Tsotsobe was the pick of the Lions' bowlers.
The South African provided his side an early breakthrough by getting Samson to edge one to Thami Tsolekile behind the stumps.
He returned to have Watson out.
Binny made a vital 38
All-rounder Stuart Binny played a nice cameo smashing 38 off only 20 balls.
Binny's innings was replete with five boundaries and a six.
Besides, he was involved in two vital partnerships, for the fourth wicket with Watson (43) and for the fifth with Hodge (35).
Pretorius picked up a couple of wickets
Dwaine Pretorius was another successful bowler for the Lions.
The picked up the vital wicket of Dravid and then cleaned up Binny as well.
Pretorious finished with figures of two for 27.
Hodge top-scored with an unbeaten 46
Brad Hodge showed why he is sought after in the shortest format as he blasted his way to 23-ball-46 which included six fours and two sixes.
The Australian remained unbeaten, having added 38 runs for the sixth wicket with Ashok Menaria (six not out).
It was largely due to his late order effort that the home team managed to post a formidable total (183 for five).
Rajasthan's last 10 overs proved to be far more profitable with a whopping 114 runs coming off it.
Malik picked up a couple of wickets
Just like first match, unheralded Himachal Pradesh seamer Vikramjeet Malik (2-26 in 3 overs) struck early blows with some disciplined bowling.
Thereafter, Tambe took over.
