The Zimbabwe 'A' team will be the foreign entry in the Duleep Trophy tournament to be played in October.
Disclosing this, BCCI joint secretary Goutam Dasgupta said on Friday that the Zimbabwe side would comprise some Test players along with a bunch of promising cricketers.
"Zimbabwe do not have any international assignment at that time. So, it will not be a problem for them to include some top-notch players in the 'A' side," Dasgupta said.
After BCCI decided to allow a foreign squad as the sixth team in the inter-zonal Duleep trophy an England XI took part in 2003, while a Bangladesh side participated last year.
The BCCI decision was prompted by an effort to raise the competition level and give the five participating zonal teams a feel of international cricket.
