With the cloud over Muttiah Muralitharan's fitness still remaining for the World Cup final against India at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday, the spin wizard has made it clear that he will play in the final.

"Come what may, I will play in the final. It's the most impost important match of my life," he said on his Twitter page.

Meanwhile, Angelo Mathews may sit out due to an injury. On Thursday the selection committee sources revealed that former fast bowler Chaminda Vaas has been kept on standby as a replacement for 24-year-old Mathews.

In addition, Suraj Randiv is likely to be the replacement as an emergency in case off-spinner Muralitharan is also declared unfit for the final.
