The International Cricket Council has once again barred electronic media from covering the all-important cricket World Cup final for breaching the media guidelines.
According to sources, the reporters present at the ground on Friday were forced to leave the premises and even stopped from covering the practice session.
Reportedly, ICC`s Media Rights & Broadcast Manager Aarti Dabas misbehaved with reporters who wanted an explanation of why were they being forced out of the ground.
The ICC had earlier too imposed a similar kind of ban on media organizations before the semi-finals of the ongoing tournament but pulled back the orders at the last moment at the behest of Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni.
The minister had a meeting with the representatives of the News Broadcasters Association and then wrote a letter to Pawar requesting him to allow the electronic media to cover the event.
She had proposed a 24-hour `truce` in a dispute created by Indian non-rights holders (NRH) breaching the terms and conditions they had agreed to follow when they were awarded accreditation for the World Cup.
