Mithali to lead women's team to England

Mithali Raj will lead the 17-member Indian women's cricket squad for the upcoming England tour from August 26 to September 9.

India will be playing five One-Day Internationals and a Twenty20 match during the tour, the BCCI said in a statement.

The players were selected after a meeting of the All India Women's Selection Committee held on Wednesday at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.

Selectors Anju Jain, Poornima Rao, Mithu Mukherjee, Vrinda Bhagat and Sandhya Agarwal were present in the meeting.

India squad: Mithali Raj (captain), Jhulan Goswami, Jaya Sharma, Karuna Jain, Sulakshana Naik, Hemlata Kala, Rumeli Dhar, Asha Rawat, Priyanka Roy, Devika Palshikar, Neetu David, Seema Pujare, Gauhar Sultan, Amita Sharma, Snehal Pradhan, Shanta Rangaswamy (Coach), Sandhya Agarwal (Manager)

Schedule:

August 30: 1st ODI at Bath CC
September 1: 2nd ODI at Somerset CCC
September 4: 3rd ODI at Somerset CCC
September 5: T20 Match at Somerset CCC
September 7: 4th ODI at Arundel CCC
September 9: 5th ODI at Sussex CCC.
