Mahendra Singh Dhoni was left plastered with cake as Team India celebrated the former captain's 36th birthday in style in Jamaica on Friday.
There could not have been a more perfect setting than the Caribbean Islands to celebrate his birthday especially after Team India's 3-1 ODI series win over the West Indies on Thursday -- the perfect icing on the cake.
And there to wish him well were his former and current teammates and also his wife Sakshi and daughter Ziva.
"Happy B'day Mahi bhai.. wish you lots of happiness, peace and success going ahead. God bless @mahi7781," captain Virat Kohli said on Instagram as he posted a couple of pictures with Dhoni, before and after the birthday's boy face was left covered with cake.
Yuvraj Singh posted a picture of himself with Dhoni on Instagram and wrote: “Many happy returns of the day to Mr. Helicopter @msdhoni have a great day buddy, the cake awaits you #happybirthday #cakesmash.”
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also wished the former India captain: "#HappyBirthdayMSD - From his long hair days to a demigod status. Relive it all on the occasion of his 36th Birthday," the board tweeted.
The tweet was tagged with a 3-minute video capsule of Dhoni’s top moments – from his maiden ODI century to lifting to 2007 World T20 Championship to winning the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup -- among other bright spots in his career.
