Former Zimbabwe captain and ex-England coach Andy Flower believes that Shahid Afridi’s reputation in the media is 'misleading' and described the Pakistan skipper as an excellent leader.

When Afridi abandoned press conference in a huff!

The flamboyant all-rounder was recently involved in a verbal spat with a journalist during a press conference in Lahore, where he labelled a question posed to him as 'pathetic'.

The incident triggered a protest by the media outside the dressing room demanding an apology from the 35-year-old.

Flower, who is working as an assistant coach for Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League, insisted that he knows Afridi fairly well and that newspaper reports could be misleading, the Dawn reported.

Flower added that Afridi was a completely different person from how he was portrayed in the media.
