'One slapped Jawan equals 100 jihadi lives'
Gautam Gambhir is known for being outspoken on cricket-related issues when it matters and now the Delhi batsman has reacted strongly to a video showing a paramilitary jawan being attacked by a local youth in Srinagar.
The 35-year-old cricketer took to his Twitter page, venting his anger at the video and the law and order situation in the state.
“For every slap on my army's Jawan lay down at least a 100 jihadi lives. Whoever wants Azadi LEAVE NOW! Kashmir is ours. #kashmirbelongs2us,” the Kolkata Knight Riders captain tweeted.
“Anti-Indians hav forgotten dat our flag also stands 4: saffron - fire of our anger, white - shroud for jihadis, green - hatred 4 terror,” his next tweet read.
former cricketer Virender Sehwag also tweeted his thoughts about the video.
"This is Unacceptable ! Cant do this to our CRPF jawaans. This rot has to stop. Badtameezi ki hadd hai," he said.
This is not the first time that Sehwag has spoken out over politics.
In September last year, India captain Virat Kohli and Sehwag condemned the Uri attacks, 17 jawans were martyred by Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed after they stormed an army base in Uri in Kashmir.
