Wasim Jaffer's unbeaten 58 helped West Zone crush South Zone by seven wickets before lunch on the fourth and final day of the Duleep Trophy match at the Motibag ground in Vadodra on Sunday.
West Zone, requiring only 76 runs for an outright victory, reached the target in just 31.2 overs, losing the wickets of Dheeraj Jadhav, Satyajit Parab and Jacob Martin.
Overnight batsmen Jaffer and Martin (18) added 48 runs for the third wicket to guide their team to a comfortable win.
After Martin's departure, it was Niraj Patel, who joined Jaffer, and the two stitched an unbeaten 47-run fourth wicket partnership. Jaffer also hit two consecutive sixes for his half century.
Seamer Laxmipathy Balaji took all the three wickets, conceding 30 runs.
With this outright win, West Zone have earned four points.
