Divorce may cost Warne $10m

January 02, 2006 20:29 IST

Alleged involvement in sex scandals is turning out too expensive for Shane Warne and despite the Australian leg-spinner's desperate attempts to save marriage, wife Simone is far from being placated and contemplating to floor the spinner with a whopping 10 million dollar in divorce settlement.

''It's over and there's no going back,'' Simone Warne was quoted by New Idea magazine as saying.

''I've worked out what I'm going to do and how I'll cope. I don't think Shane had really thought about it. I don't think he believed it was really over. I am sure he thought we'd try again when he got back from the UK," Simone said.

For years, the world's leading Test wicket taker had been bogged by allegations of infidelity and after the reports in the British media about Warne's series of 'sexual escapades' in the English summer, Simone decided that was it.

Sources say his wife is preparing for the future, with a hefty divorce settlement in tune of 10 million Australian dollars.

On dividing up their considerable assets, Simone, a former model, says she "tried to be an adult" during negotiations.

The couple have three children and Simone says that is the reason they will continue to live together atleast for some time.

''The house is big enough to cope and it's good for the kids to have him around,'' she said and added, ''It's almost like we are flatmates.''
