What happens when Shane Warne places a bet with Sourav Ganguly?
Well, for starters, he loses and it doesn’t stop there.
Last month, at a cricket conclave in England, the former India captain and Warne along with Michael Clarke were asked to pick a favourite for the Champions Trophy.
While Clarke predicted an India-Australia final, Ganguly disagreed and proceeded to give reasons why he thought otherwise.
Warne was not impressed with the suggestion made by the former India captain that England were a better team than Australia.
The former Aus leg-spinner then went on to place a bet with Ganguly, asking him to buy him dinner and wear the Australian jersey if the Aussies would win the June 10 ICC Champions Trophy match against England and he in turn would wear the England jersey if the Poms won.
Both shook hands to that and we all know how that match went -- England knocked Australia out of the competition following a convincing 40-run victory via the Duckworth-Lewis method in a crucial rain-hit Group A match, in Birmingham, last Saturday.
The sporting man that he is, Warne, who lost the bet, wore the England jersey and posted the picture on his Twitter page and wrote: “Here's a sight you thought you'd never see!
In the next tweet he tagged Ganguly and wrote: “@SGanguly99 You won the bet mate, so here I am wearing the England shirt & yes I'm in a world of hurt!
So much for being cocksure.
