Captain Sudip Kumar Gharami and veteran Anustup Majumadar made contrasting hundreds to guide Bengal to an eight-wicket over Gujarat and into the quarter-finals of the Vijay Hazare Trophy in Rajkot on Saturday.

Gharami anchored the chase with a 132-ball 117 and Majumdar cracked an 88-ball 102 as Bengal hunted down Gujarat's 283 for nine, which was built around Priyank Panchal's century. The winners raced to 286 for two in 46 overs.

Bengal will take on Haryana in the last eight clash at the same venue on Monday.

Gharami and Majumdar milked 209 runs for the unbroken third wicket stand as Bengal made lightwork of the chase.

Earlier, opener Panchal made 101 off 114 balls and in the company of Saurav Chauhan (53 off 53 balls) and Umang Kumar (65 off 47 balls), guided Gujarat to a competitive total.

For Bengal, Suman Das and Pradipta Pramanik took two wickets each.

Kerala drub Maharashtra

Hundreds by openers Krishna Prasad (144 off 137 balls) and Rohan Kunnummal (120 off 95 balls) powered Kerala to a 153-run win over Maharashtra.

Prasad and Rohan stitched together 218 runs for the first wicket as Kerala posted a mammoth 383 for 4 in 50 overs.

Openers Om Bhosale (78 off 71 balls) and Kaushal Tambe (50 off 52 balls) helped Maharashtra make a bright start to their chase, adding 139 runs for the opening stand from 20.2 overs.

But once leg-spinner Shreyas Gopal (4/35) and off-spinner Vaishak Chandran (3/39) were introduced, Maharashtra crumbled to 230 all out in 37.4 overs.

In the quarter-finals, Kerala will take on Rajasthan on Monday.

Brief scores: Kerala: 383 for 4 in 50 overs (Krishna Prasad 144, Rohan Kunnummal 120, Vishnu Vinod 43) beat Maharashtra: 230 all out in 37.4 overs (Om Bhosale 78, Kaushal Tambe 50; Shreyas Gopal 4/35, Vaishak Chandran 3/39) by 153 runs.

Gujarat: 283 for 9 in 50 overs (Priyank Panchal 101, Saurav Chauhan 53, Umang Kumar 65; Suman Das 2/48, Pradipta Pramanik 2/51) lost to Bengal: 286/2 in 46 overs (Sudipta Kumar Gharami 117 not out, Anustup Majumdar 102 not out Abhishek Porel 47) by 8 wickets.
