Cricket Association of Bihar president Aditya Verma has asked the ICC to clarify on the claims made by controversial former IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi that two leading Indian cricketers and a West Indian player had been bribed by an Indian real estate tycoon.
London-based Modi tweeted a letter, which he claims to have written to ICC CEO Dave Richardson in June 2013, passing on "some information" regarding the matter.
Verma said the ICC should make a clarification on the issue to save its "integrity and credibility".
"Yesterday, Mr Lalit Modi mail of 2013...said that he wrote to you about the involvement of 3 players...in illegal things...This is a very serious charge...Entire cricket world wanted your clarification on Mr. Modi letter," Verma said in his letter addressed to ICC CEO Richardson.
"It is your duty to clarify the facts because cricketing world wanted to know how ICC is taking the Mr. Modi email," he added.
