Australia elect to bat in first final

Australia won the toss and elected to bat in the first of the best of three finals against India in the CB tri-series in Sydney on Sunday.

On the Sydney track, known for providing help to spinners, India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni picked leg-spinner Piyush Chawla instead of pacer Munaf Patel.

Australia also made one change from the team that was beaten by Sri Lanka in their last match, bringing in opener Matthew Hayden in place of Brad Haddin.

India: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain), Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Robin Uthappa, Yuvraj Singh, Rohit Sharma, Praveen Kumar, Irfan Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Ishant Sharma, Piyush Chawla.

Australia: Ricky Ponting (captain), Adam Gilchrist, James Hopes, Michael Clarke, Andrew Symonds, Mike Hussey, Matthew Hayden, Brett Lee, Brad Hogg, Mitchell Johnson, Nathan Bracken.
