Former South Africa pace bowler Andre Nel will sit out Surrey's next two games after being suspended by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Wednesday.

Nel received the automatic ban after showing dissent at an umpire's decision during Sunday's one-day match against Lancashire.

The bowler was reported by umpires Neil Bainton and Rob Bailey for a level two breach of the ECB's discipline code and received three penalty points.

"Nel has previously received six penalty points and, as a result of accumulating nine penalty points within a two-year period, he has received an automatic suspension," the ECB said in a statement posted on its website (www.ecb.co.uk).
