# India, with a well-earned victory by an innings, registered a 2-0 series triumph -- their fifth against Sri Lanka at home.

# India's aforesaid win is their fifth at Brabourne Stadium.

# India's win by an innings and 24 runs is their second by an innings margin at Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium — their only previous win by an innings margin was against New Zealand in 1955-56 -- by an innings and 27 runs, their biggest at this venue.

# Harbhajan Singh is the leading wicket-taker in the series -- 13 (ave 41.00) with a strike rate of 73.00. He is followed by Sri Lanka's Herath (11 at 48.81) and Zaheer Khan (10 at 36.50).

# Kumar Sangakkara, with his 137 off 261 balls, has set a record for the highest individual innings as captain for Sri Lanka against India, surpassing the 136 by Mahela Jayawardene at Colombo SSC last year.

# Zaheer Khan's excellent figures (5/72) have ensured a 2-0 series win and the number one spot in the ICC rankings.

# Zaheer's eight occasions of five wickets in an innings, includes two on Indian soil, his best in India being 5 for 72 against Sri Lanka at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai, surpassing the 5 for 91 against Australia at Bangalore in 2008-09.

# With two consecutive Test wins against Sri Lanka, India have won 10 out of 17 played in India — winning per cent 58.82.

# Under Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the aforesaid win was India's seventh in ten Tests — three drawn — winning per cent 70.00.

# Being India's most successful skipper, Dhoni is one of the two captains in the history of Test Cricket not to have lost a Test match apart from enjoying a winning per cent of 70.00, winning seven out of ten. Australia's Warwick Armstrong had won out of ten Tests.

# Virender Sehwag has received his second Player of the series award against Sri Lanka - his fourth overall.

# Sehwag got the aforesaid award for becoming the top run-getter in the series - 491 (ave 122.75), including two centuries.

# Rahul Dravid is second in terms of run-aggregate in the series with 433 runs at an average of 108.25, followed by Mahela Jayawardene - 373 at an average of 74.60.

# Sehwag has now won eight man-of-the-match awards in Tests.

# Harbhajan Singh became the second Indian bowler after Anil Kumble (74) to complete his 50 wickets at an average of 34.28 in 13 Tests against Sri Lanka.
