# Kumar Sangakkara's unbeaten 133 is his first fifty-plus innings in India, obliterating the 44 at Kanpur in the second Test of the current series. His third century against India is his 21st in Tests.

# Sangakkara has completed his 1,000 runs in a calendar year, making 1079 runs at an average of 59.94 in 11 Tests, including four centuries and six fifties. He has achieved the same feat earlier in 2004 and 2006.

# Sangakkara is one of the five batsmen to aggregate 1,000 runs this year, joining Samaraweera (1234), Mahela Jayawardene (1194), Tillakaratne Dilshan (1097) and Andrew Strauss (1071).

# Sangakkara is the first Sri Lankan skipper to score a century in India and the fourth Sri Lankan captain to register a hundred against India in a Test match, joining Mahela Jayawardene, Duleep Mendis and Sanath Jayasuriya.

# Prasanna Jayawardene's run tally (297 at an average of 74.25) is a new series record by a Sri Lankan wicketkeeper against India, eclipsing the 196 (ave.65.33) in the three-Test series by Kumar Sangakkara in 2001.

# The aforesaid performance is Prasanna's best in a Test series.

# Tillakaratne Dilshan has made 248 at an average of 49.60 in the three-Test series — his best performance in a Test series against India. Dilshan's best ever series in terms of run-aggregate is against Bangladesh in 2008-09 — 366 (ave.91.50), including two hundreds.

# By scoring two fifties in the Mumbai Test (53 and 54), Tharanga Paranavitana's batting average has improved to 29.44. In his brief Test career, he has posted two fifties in a Test match for the first time. He has posted two fifties each against Pakistan and India.

# Dhoni is the third Indian wicketkeeper to take 100 catches, joining Syed Kirmani (160) and Kiran More (110). His tally of dismissals (118 — 100 catches and 18 stumpings) as wicketkeeper is the third best for India — the top two being Syed Kirmani (198) and Kiran More (130).

# Samaraweera has recorded his second duck against India, which is his sixth in Tests. His tally of six ducks includes five on foreign soil.
