Seventy-two-year-old sports psychologist Dr Rudi Webster, who worked with World Cup-winning West Indies captain Clive Lloyd in the 1970's, is set to help Kolkata Knight Riders for the upcoming IPL season 5 beginning on April 4.

"We are delighted to welcome Dr Webster. I am sure he will add to the strength and play an important role in taking KKR to the next level of performance," Venky Mysore, CEO of KKR said on Monday.

The Grenada-based psychologist was the manager of the West Indies team in Kerry Packer's World Series of Cricket under the leadership of Clive Lloyd and saw the birth and development of the golden era of Caribbeans, who dominated world cricket for more than 15 years.

He also worked with the West Indies, Sri Lanka and India, having helped Virender Sehwag during the tour of the Caribbean in 2006.

He has also authored the book Winning Ways: In Search of Your Best Performance.
