Sneak peek into England's team bonding trip in Spain

England's cricketers went to Spain for a four-day training camp to prepare for the Ashes series, starting July 8.

There they got  to meet their new coach, Australian Trevor Bayliss, for the first time.

'We were in a unique situation that 11 days before an Ashes series none of us had met the new coach before, so going away seemed to be the best option,' England captain Alastair Cook said before the team departed.

Joe Root and Ben Stokes, who had a vital partnership of 161 after England had slumped to 30 for four on the first morning of the opening Test against New Zealand in May, were at their best in Spain too.

Stokes shared a hilarious picture of himself and Root in fancy dress on his official Instagram account.

He was dressed like a hip-hop artist, sporting a basketball jersey, shorts, gold chain, sunglasses and a baseball cap.

According to Stokes, that was how a typical 'Brit would dress abroad'.  

Root, meanwhile, wore a matador costume.

Stokes explained that they were serving as quiz masters for the rest of their England team-mates as the squad enjoy the bonding trip.

England won the Lord's Test and lost the second match at Headingley but the team's resurgence continued in a thrilling One-day series against the Black Caps which the hosts won 3-2 playing an exciting style of cricket under captain Eoin Morgan.

Australia won the last Ashes series 5-0 on home soil in 2013-14, but have not lifted the precious urn in England since 2001.
