KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan was seen dancing around the ground as he celebrated the victory with all his players and the coaching staff.
West Indian all-rounder Andre Russell led the celebrations as he showed off a few moves of the popular 'Gangnam Dance' to the delight of his team-mates.
Set a huge target of 200 for victory, KKR won with three balls to spare after Piyush Chawla hit the winning boundary off Punjab pacer Parvinder Awana.
Shah Rukh also joined in the party as he managed to convince Manish Pandey to show off his dancing skills.
Pandey was named the man of the match for his splendid innings of 94 from 50 balls, having hit seven fours and six sixes, to lead KKR's charge with the bat.
This was Kolkata's second IPL triumph, following their victory in the fifth edition in 2012.
They join Chennai Super Kings as the only two teams to have won the IPL twice.
Robin Uthappa got the Orange Cap award for finishing as the highest run-getter in the tournament.
KKR opener Uthappa led the way with the bat as he tallied 660 runs in the tournament at an average of 44 with five half-centuries.
It was also a special evening for KKR captain Gautam Gambhir, who recently made a comeback to the Indian Test squad for their forthcoming tour of England.
Gambhir, who was retained by Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of the IPL auctions in February, proved his worth yet again as he led the team to their second IPL title in three years.
The left-hander, who started the tournament with three ducks in a row, staged a remarkable turnaround to finish with 335 runs in 16 innings with three half-centuries.
KKR co-owners Juhi Chawla and her husband Jay Mehta also joined the celebrations in the middle and also posed with the team for pictures.
"Either the cup is too big or my nose is. Either way the victory of my KKR boys is the biggest still. Love u. Get ready Kolkata we rule!!!!" SRK wrote on Twitter following the victory.
Shah Rukh Khan's daughter Suhana was also seen in the stands at the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore cheering for her team KKR.
Later, Shah Rukh Khan said he dedicated the triumph to his youngest son AbRam.
"I dedicated this win to my little child AbRam and the hard work done by Gautam [Gambhir] and his team. Thank you Bengalore and thank you IPL. We believed in ourselves and hard work done by the team management," he said.
Shah Rukh hugged Kings XI Punjab co-owner Preity Zinta after the match and congratulated her team for their consistent performances during the tournament.
"We didn't have many big players and flashy names but team work did it for us. I told my children that Manish will do something special. If I were choose my team to play against any team in the final, I wouldn't have chosen Preity's team. I wished to win against any other team," he said.
