It was the fastest fifty in Champions League T20 history. The record was previously held by Trinidad & Tobago’s Kieron Pollard, who scored a fifty off18 balls against NSW at Hyderabad in 2009.
A Tweet by former India batsman Aakash Chopra read: “Last night I'd consumed all the adjectives during Raina's batting..who knew that Dhoni was going to play an absolute blinder. What a player!”
Tennis player Rohan Bopanna also mentioned Dhoni’s innings in his Tweet on Friday morning.
“Just reading about MS Dhoni's innings, scoring the fastest 50 in the champions league. Must have been a treat to watch it, Especially Live,” India’s Davis Cup star tweeted.
