Barmy Army laughs off competition from The Fanatics

The Barmy Army is warming up their tonsils for Thursday's Adelaide Test and has laughed off talk of Australia's Fanatics' plan to take them on in the stands and the Hill.

According to News.com.au, the Fanatics say they boast new material for Adelaide, a revelation Paul Burnham, a founding member of Barmy Army, welcomed.

Members of the Fanatics attend everything from soccer and rugby matches to horse racing and tennis.

More than 2000 members of the Barmy Army have rolled into Adelaide over the past few days, but, when expats are factored in, Burnham expects the numbers to swell to several thousand, the report said.

The Army's co-founder Burham said that there's competition going on out there in the middle but there is no competition in the terraces. He says the groups will follow through on a promise to target David Warner and Michael Clarke, although the main focus will be to lift the flagging English morale, the report added.
