'A big hundred from Sachin would be an icing on the cake'

November 13, 2013 17:58 IST

Terming Sachin Tendulkar's landmark 200th Test as a great moment for the country, India's ODI specialist Suresh Raina has said the playing career of the iconic batsman was "unbelievable".

"It's a great moment for Sachin and every one in the country as he is going to play his 200th international Test match, which is unbelievable," Raina, the Uttar Pradesh captain in Rajkot.

'Playing the 200th Test match is just unbelievable'

UP will take on Saurashtra in their Ranji Trophy group B match, starting on Wednesday at SCA stadium in Khandheri.

"Playing the 200th Test match is just unbelievable as no one in the history of cricket has achieved the milestone which Sachin is going to achieve," Raina said.

Like any other Tendulkar fan, Raina too is hoping for a big hundred from the retiring legend to make his farewell match more memorable.

"Sachin should make every cricket lover in the country happy by making a big hundred, then it would be an icing on the cake," he said.

'Sachin is a different class of player'

Raina described Sachin as a special cricketer and a perfect team man.

"What he achieved in his 25-year-long career is remarkable and he is a good human being as well as a perfect team mate. He is a nice person, his commitment to the game is amazing and he has always been there for us (young players) when we face difficulties at international level."

"Sachin is a different class of player and no one in the country would be able to fill the place to be vacated by him after the Mumbai Test match," Raina said.
